I’m originally from Maryland, so the northeast is an area of the United States that I hold near and dear to my heart. There are some particularly beautiful camping areas in the northeast, and today I want to share the best camping in the northeast!
Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park is located in eastern Maine, right on an island called Mount Desert. It’s a stunning national park featuring beautiful lakes, oceanfronts, and hiking trails. There’s so much to do on this lovely little island.
Green Mountain National Forest
Located in southwestern Vermont lies the Green Mountain National Forest. This part of the country is absolutely stunning in the fall, so definitely try to make an effort to visit during that time. The leaves are beautifully multicolored and there are tons to do in the forest.
The Kancamagus highway is a stretch of New Hampshire’s route 112. It’s absolutely stunning and provides amazing views of the surrounding mountains and rivers. It’s a beautiful stop to pitch a tent for the evening.
Baxter State Park
Located in north Maine, Baxter State Park is another beautiful, wooded area like many of the others on this list. It’s home to the state’s highest peak, which is awesome for hiking and stunning views.
Delaware Seashore State Park
The last place for this list of amazingly beautiful places to camp is located in Delaware, just a short hour away from where I was born. I couldn’t mention the east coast without also giving you a beautiful ocean option. Delaware seashore state park is located just off the coast in southern Delaware. There’s SO much to do in this state park it deserves its own post, but boating, the beach, hiking, there’s so much to do!
